CB&I Lummus and Hoegh LNG AS are developing an LNG FPSO based on a patented process using compressors, expanders and only gaseous refrigerants. This results in minimum liquid hydrocarbon topsides inventory and is insensitive to hull motion.

The FPSO will be designed for receiving gas via flexible risers, processing and storing LNG, LPG and condensate. It is currently planned for side-by-side offloading of the LNG and LPG. The presentation will address the main technical challenges faced during the FEED and highlights design alternatives, safety and Layout on the FPSO.
