The need for novel process designs to remove CO2 from natural gas has become more important as producers are required to develop offshore reserves with high CO2 content.  An ideal offshore treating process should have a small footprint, be easy to operate and maintain and must be able to handle CO2 content fluctuations. The process should be energy efficient, and produce the minimum amount of greenhouse gases.

This paper introduces the Fluor Solvent â propylene carbonate based process technologies which are specifically developed for offshore high CO2 removal applications and how this compares with other treating options.
