Necessity is the Mother of Invention A Versatile Design for a Dew Point Control Plant

Martín Raventos, Pablo Luraschi, Mariela Arduino, and Marco Bergel; Tecna S.A., Argentina

This paper describes Tecna’s approach for the provision of a natural gas dew point control plant with the ability to handle a very high turn-down ratio and wide ranges of inlet gas compositions and operating pressures by means of a flexible, non-conventional design. Tecna used a number of innovative strategies, both in the conceptual definition of the process scheme and in the overcoming of constructive challenges. The major highlight is the use of dual service heat exchangers, which allow adapting the heat integration sequence based on the inlet composition.
